NORTHWOODS CHAPTER ICE AGE TRAIL
WILDFLOWER HIKE

The Northwoods Chapter,
Ice Age Trail Alliance will be conducting their Spring Wildflower Hike Saturday
May 24, 2014. The adventure will be in
the Camp 27 Segment of the Ice Age Trail . This is one of the wildest sections
of the the entire 1000 miles of the
trail. In addition to the usual spring
flora, hikers may see evidence of bobcats, timber wolf, fisher, deer and
bear.
The total hike will be
about three miles on woodland trails, and considered moderately easy. The tread could be wet in a few spots. Hikers need to dress for the weather as it is
a rain or shine event. Bring a lunch to
eat on the trail. This hike is open to
the public and there is no cost. A free will donation for the local Chapter is
welcome.
A car pool is available
from Club 64 Parking Lot on Hwy 64 on the West side of Merrill at 9:30
A.M. Hikers can choose to meet at the
Hike start at 10 A.M. Take Hwy 64 west
of Merrill to Highway E. Follow E to
Conservation Avenue. Follow the Ice Age
Trail Event signs.
